Create a project budget as part of your application form

You need to create a detailed project budget as part of your application.

The 'How Much' tab of the application form tells you if you need to create your budget as part of the application form or download a budget template in Excel format, complete it and and attach it to the 'Support Material' tab.

The instructions below tell you how to create a project budget as part of your application form.

Steps:

  1. Select the 'How Much' tab of your application.

  2. Click '+Create New'. The Project Budget template will open.
    enlightenedTIP: To save your budget click 'ACCEPT' then 'SAVE'. If you click 'BACK' or 'x' to close your budget your work will not be saved!
  3. Click ‘+Add new record’ to add a new expenditure (cost) budget item.

    Category
    Select the relevant expenditure category from the drop-down list.
    Refer to the Budget Guidelines for more information on each category.
    Description
    Enter a clear description eg. Six actors @ $800 per week.
    $ Amount Budgeted
    Enter the full cost for the item.
    $ Requested from CNZ
    Enter the amount you are asking Creative New Zealand to contribute to the item.

    Repeat until all expenditure items have been added.

  4. Click '+ Add new record' to add a new revenue (income) budget item.

    Category
    Select the relevant revenue category from the drop-down list.
    Refer to the Budget Guidelines for more information on each category.
    Description
    Enter a clear description.
    $ Amount Budgeted
    Enter the revenue for the item.

    Repeat until all revenue items have been added.

  5. Once you have finished working on your budget click 'ACCEPT'.
    The budget will close and you will return to the 'How Much' tab.

  6. Enter the 'Amount you are requesting from Creative New Zealand' and the 'Total cost of the project'.
    These amounts must match the totals in your project budget.

  7. If relevant enter brief budget notes.

  8. Click 'SAVE'.
